Website Analysis

Structural & Performance Audits

GDMI”s Website Performance Audit provides an evaluation of the architectural and structural components from the search engine perspective. That is to say the structural components of the website which enable or prevent the search engine from crawling the website and evaluating the site’s relevancy against a keyword search, an essential component of establishing rankings.

The Audit provides information for GDMI or the client’s appointed developers, to make the necessary changes to a website, insuring its visibility to the search engines and enabling it to achieve natural search rankings for key targeted keywords.

The Audit will evaluate technical components including:
  • Header Tags including H1 and H2
  • On-site Anchor Text
  • Keyword Body Density
  • Content presentation mix including location, proximity, size, bold and italics
  • Page Weight and Content Length and disbursement
  • Internal Linking Structure
  • Keyword Rich Title Tags (including other meta’s description, keyword, and alt attributes)
  • Broken internal links
  • Website rankings based on articulated target keywords, themes and geography
  • Page naming structure
  • Duplicate content issues
  • Robots.txt file
  • Secondary Navigation
  • JavaScript
  • Page Titles
  • Meta Descriptions
  • Meta Keywords
  • Header and Markup Tags
  • Current keywords and Meta Tags
  • Current Link Popularity
  • Search Engine Saturation
  • Google PageRank
  • W3 Standards
  • On Page Factors
  • Usability issues to increase visitor conversions

Search Engines may rule the rankings but ultimately it is the consumer who visits a website that will make the determination whether or not to make contact with a business. Therefore a website’s user friendliness is as important as its search engine friendliness. The Website Performance Audit will also address any factors which may be limiting the website user from taking the desired action of the business. Websites are entered from all entry points of the website not only at the home page.

Therefore it is essential for the visitor to easily navigate throughout the site and find what is being searched immediately. Telephone numbers, contact forms and other essential contact information must be clearly displayed with strong ‘calls to action’ throughout the site. As consumers’ use of the Internet continues to evolve, so must a website evolve in its ability to communicate a businesses value, visually and clutter free.
